Long Covid
Long Covid symptoms are those which persist for more than 4-12 weeks after an infection consistent with Covid 19. They can occur in individuals who have or haven't been hospitalised and vary in their presentation and recovery rates.
Individuals can present with clusters of symptoms, often overlapping, which may change over time and can affect any system within the body.
This can make daily activities as well as the ability to work a challenge.
The most commonly reported Long Covid symptoms are:
● Fatigue
Long Covid Physiotherapy
Long Covid Physiotherapy will help you regain control of your Long Covid symptoms using a variety of evidence-based approaches. This includes:
● Addressing dysfunctional breathing patterns
To access the programme you should be recovered from the acute stages of Covid-19, motivated to participate and physiologically stable.
Before your first session a pre-screening questionnaire is completed to establish symptoms, safety to proceed with the sessions and if other health specialities are required.
The Physiotherapy sessions consist of a comprehensive assessment followed by 1 hour sessions. If preferred, these are completed via video-conferencing which works very well for those living with Long Covid.
The Frater Clinic prides itself in recruiting motivated and high calibre specialists who are professional and are very well qualified. All doctors are required to have annual appraisals and regular training to enhance their skills and knowledge. During the pandemic, training and updates continued throughout.
All specialists linked to the clinic who see patients do so in an independent capacity (such that there is no liability on the part of The Frater Clinic).
