Referrals to Specialists
In the UK, in order to see a specialist, a referral from a GP is required.
This means that if you feel that you need to see a specialist, you must first be assessed by a GP who will then refer you to the relevant specialist once they have deemed it necessary and appropriate.
At The Frater Clinic over the years, we have established strong relationships with some of the finest specialists in the country and are able to arrange fast-track appointments with them. In many cases we can even arrange appointments on the same day or within 24 hours. In some cases, our specialists come to our clinic to see you in our comfortable surroundings. We can arrange rapid referrals to doctors in almost every speciality - as fast as is possible in the medical world. However, this is now subject to availability due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the specialist may be seen off-site. Specialist consultations may be initially by telephone and video link. If a face to face appointment is considered to be necessary, the specialist will make the necessary arrangement as to where you can be seen.
